Charge your BowTie

The WonderWoof BowTie has an internal rechargeable battery that typically lasts seven days, depending on use.

  1. Remove your BowTie from the packaging or dog collar.
  2. Open the silicone USB cover on the side of the BowTie and insert the micro-USB cable into the device. Connect the USB end to any compatible charging device. For best results use a wall charger.
  3. For first time use, charge the BowTie for 4 hours. Ignore any LED patterns.
  4. Unplug the cord and firmly close the silicone USB cover to prevent dust and moisture from damaging the device.
  5. Future battery charging takes approximately 2 hours and the LED will be solid red. The light will turn off when charging is complete.

Tip: If the app continually says ‘Searching’ and will not connect to the Bowtie when it is in range, then your BowTie requires charging.

FAQs

How does WonderWoof calculate daily activity?

WonderWoof provides a daily recommendation of activity for your dog based on his or her breed, size, and age. The BowTie has a three-axis accelerometer that constantly collects activity data and syncs with your mobile device, providing you with insights into your dog’s health. Each ‘bone’ on the app homescreen represents 10% of your dog’s daily recommended activity.

Activity collected is categorized in four different ways:
  • Sleeping – no activity
  • Resting – drowsy, balanced activity
  • Active – regular, rhythmic activity
  • Playing – bursting, high energy activity

Can WonderWoof track my lost dog?

No. The WonderWoof BowTie is designed to monitor your dog’s daily activity. It does not include GPS and cannot find your lost dog.

Only the app can track your walks when enabled in the map function. The BowTie will update your phone with its monitored activity data when you are within Bluetooth range.

Tip: Range for Bluetooth connections are 30–40 feet (9–12 meters) with clear lines of sight. For best results stay within a 10 feet (3 meters) range.

Is WonderWoof waterproof?

Yes, brave the water! Your pup may puddle jump, play in the rain, and bathe with their WonderWoof on. Just make sure the silicone USB cover on the charging port is firmly closed. Moisture in the charging port will damage the BowTie.

The BowTie is rated as waterproof IPX7, meaning the device can be immersed in up to 3 feet (1 meter) of water for 30 minutes. It offers protection for short durations of water immersion, but it is not recommended for swimming.

What happens if my dog chews or swallows the BowTie?

  • Contact your vet immediately if the BowTie has been accidentally ingested or the battery has been chewed.
  • Please monitor your dog if they have a known chewing habit and keep the BowTie in a safe location when not in use.
  • Lithium-ion polymer batteries are very toxic to dogs when ingested and pose a major health risk. We want our pets to stay happy and healthy.
  • WonderWoof and Wondermento, Inc. are not responsible for injury sustained during irregular use of the BowTie and WonderWoof App.

What is the BowTie’s wireless range?

The BowTie’s syncing range is about 30–40 feet (9–12 meters) with a clear line of sight. For best results stay within a 10 feet (3 meters) range.

Will I lose data if I accidentally delete the app?

No! Since you have created an account, all your data is safe if you accidentally delete your app or install a new update. Whenever you log in on a fresh app install (or another device) all your and your dog’s data is synced to your device. This means that all dog data, stats, activity charts, walks, achievements and friends will be how you left them.

What about a cat version?

Don’t worry! We haven’t forgotten our feline friends. WonderMeow is in the works for 2018!  Sign up to get on our Beta Kitty List here.

Can I use WonderWoof with a harness?

Yes! The BowTie can be wrapped around a harness strap the same way you would a collar. Use the fashion band straps to secure the BowTie firmly to the harness.

Troubleshooting

What do the LED patterns mean when charging?

Our most recent app update changed charging LED light patterns. While charging, the LED light will remain solid red and turn off when charging is complete (approx. 2 hours).

Why isn’t my app syncing?

Not being able to sync could be a result of a dead battery, especially if the large bow tie at the bottom center of the homescreen continually says ‘Searching’. Charge the BowTie to remedy the problem.

If the large bowtie continually says ‘Syncing’,  a large data transfer is causing longer than normal sync times between the BowTie and the mobile device. Speed up data transfers by syncing every few hours if possible. We’re working hard on an app update to solve this problem. In the meantime, leave the BowTie next to your phone and patiently allow your phone to process the data or reach out to our customer service team for further support.
